Space Weather conditions can adversely affect the accuracy and the reliability of GNSS applications. Our web site provides information about Space Weather conditions (Solar, geomagnetic and ionospheric activity) and Space Weather effects on GNSS.

Our project
The group "Geodesy and GNSS" of the Geomatics Unit conducts a research program dedicated to the applications of GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) like GPS or Galileo in Geophysics.

The main research topics are:

- The monitoring and the modeling of the error induced by the ionosphere on the accuracy and on the integrity of GNSS applications.
- The development of original techniques in order to reconstruct information on the ionospheric activity based on GNSS measurements.

At the present time, we are studying the added value of the European positioning system Galileo in the frame of our applications.
